About ORX

The Operational Riskdata eXchange Association (ORX) is a not-for-profit industry association dedicated to advancing the measurement and management of operational risk in the global financial services industry.

ORX was founded in 2002 with the primary objective of creating a platform for the secure and anonymised exchange of high-quality operational risk loss data. Today ORX operates the world's leading operational risk loss data consortium for the financial services industry. The ORX Global Loss Database contains 170,081 operational risk loss events, each event over €20,000 in value, to a total value of €58 billion.

In addition to operating as an exchange for loss data ORX has become an important forum in the global financial services industry for the development of common operational risk standards, leading edge research and collective learning. ORX is committed, where issues of confidentiality do not prevent it from doing so, to making freely available its standards and research.

ORX is owned and controlled, on an equal basis, by its 53 member firms. The ORX Board of Directors is the key decision making body. The Board is made up of senior elected representatives from member firms. The Board is supported by a Managing Board and the ORX Secretariat.  ORX is incorporated in Zurich, Switzerland.
